"JetBlue flight 1731 safely landed at Boston Logan at 9:44 following a diversion of the New York to Bermuda flight to address a non-critical equipment issue. Maintenance crews are addressing the issue and an unrelated lightning strike that occurred while en-route to Boston. Customers are being accommodated on another flight on to Bermuda."

WCVB quotes the pilot in an audio recording between the plane's pilot and air traffic controllers, saying, “We just took a bold of lightning for Jetblue 1731.”

According to WCVB the strike occurred after the plane was already rerouted toward Boston, due to the equipment issue.
