Police Rule Death Of Emerson Student A Homicide
Emerson College student Daniel Hollis, 20, died after being involved in what his parents said was a post-party "scuffle" in Brighton.

BOSTON — Police have ruled the death of Emerson student Daniel Hollis a homicide. Hollis, 19, died Wednesday after being involved in what his parents said was a post-party "scuffle" in Brighton. They said he was struck and hit his head on cement.
Officers said they found Hollis unconscious while responding to an assault call in the area of 15 Park Vale Ave. He was brought to the hospital, where he had surgery for a blood clot in his brain.
Hollis succumbed to his injuries Wednesday evening, his parents said.

Hollis' parents said he was with a group of friends when there was an altercation with another group of young men.
No arrests have been made.

"The Boston Police Department continues to actively review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident," police said in a statement Thursday. Police asked anyone with information to call 617-343-4470.
