REI To Open First-Of-Its-Kind Store In Cambridge This Fall
REI Co-op is introducing its first "small format neighborhood store" in Cambridge Crossing.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — REI will open a new "small format neighborhood store" in Cambridge Crossing, company management announced Monday. The 6,500-square-foot store is opening this fall and the company plans to bring in products designed to fit the Cambridge community that it said prioritizes an active, outdoor lifestyle.
“We look forward to joining the fabric of a community that shares our belief that time outside is fundamental to a life well lived," Becky Smith, REI’s Northeast regional director, said in a statement. "REI is committed to connecting and supporting all members of the community to have an active lifestyle.”
The company said its product selection will be focused on serving the runners and cyclists around Greater Boston. Customers and members can access the company's full offerings on REI.com through in-store consultation services and virtual outfitting.

The 6,500-square-foot store will be part of the Cambridge Crossing community and serve the nearly 579,000 members throughout Greater Boston along with newcomers to the area and the co-op.
