Rush Hour Challenge 2016: And the winner is...
Who do you think won? Competition between walker, runner, bike, electric-assist bike, Hubway, MBTA and a car.

Boston, MA - In this year's annual challenge to navigate Boston to Somerville in rush hour traffic, the electric assist bicycle came in first.

That's a slight twist on last year's race, which was also won by a cyclist. Electric assist bicycles are essentially what they say -- a bike, but with a built-in energy assistance that makes the journey easier and, as was clearly the case here, faster. The winner's ride came from Irvine, California-based PEDEGO Electric Bike.
A Hubway bike-share bicycle also joined this year's race, as did a personal bike. At the back of the pack were the walker (with dog) and driver, who navigated traffic to Somerville's Davis Square.
