Safak Serez Launches Bilingual Songbook Project, Files U.S. Copyright, and Begins ASCAP Membership

"Local author and composer expands his creative reach with a new bilingual collection, bridging poetry and music."

Boston, MA — Local author and composer Şafak Serez has officially launched his bilingual songbook project, blending poetry with simple musical notation to create an accessible collection for diverse audiences. Alongside this initiative, Serez has also filed for U.S. copyright protection and begun the process of joining ASCAP as a composer.

The project, titled “Songbook: Lyrics & Simple Notation,” introduces an innovative approach where verses are paired with melodies designed for both professional musicians and everyday readers. By presenting his works in both English and Turkish, Serez continues his mission of building cultural bridges through art.

“Music and poetry have always walked hand in hand,” Serez explains. “With this collection, I wanted to show how even the simplest melody can carry profound meaning and connect people across languages and borders.”
