School Bus Crash Snarls Thursday Commute in Boston

An early-morning crash between an SUV and a school bus with no passengers caused no injuries, but created a major headache for drivers.

Boston, MA - An early-morning crash between an SUV and a school bus with no passengers caused no injuries, but created a major headache for drivers on their Thursday morning commute.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the school bus was unoccupied, aside from the driver, and both vehicles' drivers were uninjured. Fox25 has video, here.

Police continue to investigate the crash, which briefly blocked all southbound lanes on I-93. At least one lane was cleared some 20 minutes after the crash, and the rest opened up shortly thereafter, state police said.

Nonetheless, delays for commuters were substantial. At one point, the state's transportation department said, traffic was backed up more than 15 miles behind the scene of the accident, reaching from the O'Neill Tunnel to Wilmington.
