What do you think of the paper's stance?

A stark white background, a partially pictured gun and three simple words, in bold letters: "Make it stop."

The Boston Globe plunged into the highly charged fight of the post-Orlando gun regulations debate with a clear message for congress splashed across its front page.

The paper's editorial board writes:

"Greed, legislative cowardice, advanced technology — that is how we got here. The United States has been pummeled by gun violence since the assault weapons ban expired in 2004. This year, mass shootings have already claimed 61 lives. One class of gun, semiautomatic rifles, is largely responsible. But this nation cannot be a hostage of fear. We can make it stop."

The shock-factor front page comes the morning after Senate Democrats - including both Massachusetts senators - staged a 15-hour filibuster in order to push a vote on the issue. It comes less than a week after a gunman in Orlando murdered 49, killing two with Massachusetts ties and injuring two others.

It's also the second time this year the Globe has dedicated its front page to a cause. Before, it was parody headlines from a hypothetical Donald Trump presidency. Thursday's message was much more direct.
