MA Tax-Free Shopping Weekend: What You Need To Know

Massachusetts sales tax-free weekend begins Saturday, Aug. 29, and will run through Sunday, Aug. 30. People will be able to buy most — but not all — items under $2,500 without having to pay the state 6.25 percent sales tax.

Beer Brewed With Doughnuts? You Can Thank Harpoon, Dunkin'

Harpoon Brewery and Dunkin' are partnering on three new beers, including two made from actual doughnuts. The two companies have released beers together in the past, including the coffee-flavored Dunkin' Coffee Porter. The three new beers, which will hit shelves next month, include Harpoon Dunkin' Pumpkin Spiced Latte Ale, Harpoon Boston Kreme Stout, and Harpoon Jelly Donut IPA (read the full story).

The Supreme Judicial Court has upheld the murder conviction of Daniel Mason, a former Boston University medical student who shot two men, one fatally, and killed their dog in their Jamaica Plain apartment in 2001.
