Shots Fired At Lyft Driver Near Franklin Park

No one was injured, police said.

BOSTON — A Lyft Driver was shot at, but not injured, early Tuesday near Franklin Park in Roxbury, police said.

Just after 3:30 a.m., police were called to the Roxbury side of the park for a report of shots fired. No one has been charged yet.

Lyft officials said the shooting did not occur while the car was picking up or dropping someone off.

"The safety of our community is fundamental to Lyft," a company spokeswoman said. Our thoughts are with the individual impacted and we've been in touch to offer our full support."

Boston police report that 119 people have been shot so far this year, of whom 21 died, compared to 106 people shot by this time last year and 26 fatalities.
