Sickened Chipotle Diners Reportedly Receive Settlements... Some, In Burrito Form
Dozens in Boston, mainly Boston College students, fell sick with norovirus after dining at Chipotle's Cleveland Circle restaurant last year.
BOSTON, MA — Among the dozens of Boston College students and others sickened during a Chipotle norovirus outbreak last year, more than two dozen have reportedly settled with the company.
The Boston Globe reports Tuesday at least 96 people, including 14 in Boston, have received undisclosed cash settlements from the company after the norovirus and E. coli outbreak at restaurants across the country caused diners to fall ill.
But in all this, the attorney litigating the settlement told the Globe something stuck out to him. One client, an Oregon 19-year-old who was hospitalized with E. coli, asked for an odd perk in addition to her settlement: free burritos from Chipotle.

According to the paper, the woman received about 24 free food coupons from the company that made her so sick.
Meanwhile the attorney, who has long litigated foodborne illness cases, told the Globe, “I’ve been doing this a long time, and I’ve never had a client ask for such a thing."
