BOSTON — The possibility of snow is in the forecast Christmas Eve and Christmas, though it's not certain yet if it will be the White Christmas you've been dreaming out.

Snow showers will begin moving in overnight Thursday into Friday, leaving the Boston area by about 10 a.m. It should stay just below freezing for most of Friday, meaning the snow may indeed stick to the ground for some extra holiday oomph.

Boston is looking at less than an inch, while Worcester and as far east as Bedford could be looking at 2 inches.

A White Christmas is technically defined by having an inch or more of snow on the ground Christmas morning. It's possible Saturday could check those boxes across much of the state, temperature willing.
