This month, our Collection Spotlight is a reminder that you can visit the State Library and see our featured item in person! Currently on display in the reading room is A Pictorial Map of the New England States, U.S.A. by renowned cartographer Ernest Dudley Chase. Dating to 1939, it is an illustrated map of the six states that comprise New England: Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Come visit us to see the many intricate details of this map - we are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
For those who can’t visit in person, we’re sharing a selection of other Ernest Dudley Chase maps in this week’s blog post! We’ll be changing the displayed item in the library at the beginning of each month, and continuing to share it on our website, blog, and social media channels.
