The head of the Massachusetts State Police wants to see the termination of 22 more State Troopers related to an ever-unfolding overtime scandal.

Col. Chris Mason told reporters Friday morning he is seeking the termination of the troopers, who were notified of his intentions Thursday. The decision comes as a result of an internal review, Mason said.

Forty-six troopers overall were involved in the scandal, the review showed. Ten have been criminally charged for getting pay for overtime shifts they didn't work.

The overtime scandal resulted in the 2018 disbandment of Troop E. Since then, more than a dozen implicated troopers have retired, with some pleading guilty to criminal charges.
