State Rep. Pleads Guilty To Drunk Driving Charges: Report

The lawmaker was involved in an accident near the State House this week.

BOSTON, MA — A state lawmaker pleaded not guilty on multiple charges related to a drunk driving incident in court on Thursday, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.

Democratic Rep. John Lawn was arrested in the vicinity of the state house in the early hours of Wednesday, July 16. According to Boston police, Lawn collided with a parked pickup truck at approximately 1 a.m. He then fled the scene and was later arrested. He was officially charged with drunk driving and leaving the scene of the accident.

Lawn expressed regret for what happened and emphasized that he wants to take full accountability for his actions. The 56-year-old from Watertown is the Chair of the Committee on Health Care Financing.
