Suffolk County Man 5th Vaping Death In Massachusetts
The man was in his 40s and vaped marijuana, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
MASSACHUSETTS — A Suffolk County man in his 40s became the fifth person to die of vaping in Massachusetts in recent months, health officials said Wednesday.
The man died of a "vaping-associated lung injury," the state Department of Health said. He reported vaping marijuana.
"My condolences go out to the family of this patient who has died from a vaping-associated lung injury," Public Health Commissioner Monica Bharel said. "This tragedy reminds us of the dangers of vaping and the reasons we strengthened our laws regarding vaping products."

It was the second such death this year reported in Massachusetts. In January, a Middlesex County man in his 70s died.
In November, DPH reported a man in his 50s from Worcester County died. In October, a woman in her 40s from Middlesex County and a woman in her 60s from Hampshire County both died.
