Two teenagers are facing assault charges for attacking an off-duty cab driver after kicking through the windows of an MBTA Red Line train.

BOSTON — Three teenagers from Boston are facing charges after police say they attacked an off-duty cab driver with a hammer and broke the windows of an MBTA Red Line train.
Police responded to a report of vandalism around 10:45 p.m. at the JFK-UMass station in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. Once there, officers learned from witnesses that a group of teens at the Ashmont platform kicked through and broke the windows of a Red Line train.
After breaking the windows, witnesses told police the teens approached a 53-year-old off-duty cab driver and demanded a ride. When the man told the teens he wasn't working, the group attacked the man, spitting on him and attacking him with a hammer and glass bottle, police said.
