3 People Arraigned In April Boston Shooting

The incident resulted in the death of a bystander.

BOSTON, MA — Three arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting of a man earlier this year, Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan announced.

Charles Dixon, 40, Ellis Santos, 36, and Jacqueline Cherisme, 34, have been arrested and arraigned in connection with the fatal shooting of Andrew Owens on April 19.

Dixon and Cherisme reportedly got into an argument with Santos about money in the vicinity of Dudley Station in Roxbury. While the confrontation was still ongoing, Dixon and Cherisme got into their car and Dixon fired shots at Santos as they began to drive away. Owens was one of two innocent bystanders struck, and later died of his injury. Santos returned fire on Dixon and Cherisme but did not hit anyone.

“This case demonstrates the dangerous and life altering impacts of guns in our communities. Here the defendants allegedly discharged their firearms without regard for the bystanders in the area,” Ryan said. “Ultimately, this reckless and brazen conduct led to the injury of an innocent victim and the senseless and tragic death of Andrew Owens.”
