Tractor-Trailer Rollover In Boston Tunnel Sparks Heavy Delays

Ramps to I-93 north and south from the Ted Williams Tunnel in Boston have since reopened, but traffic is still heavy around the area.

BOSTON — A tractor-trailer rollover crash in a Boston tunnel has traffic backed up even more than usual Tuesday morning.

Massachusetts State Police say the tractor-trailer rolled over on the ramp from the Ted Williams Tunnel to I-93 just before 7:30 a.m.

The ramp was closed with no access to the Massachusetts Turnpike westbound to I-93 north or south, and no access to I-93 north or south from the Seaport Congress St. ramp for well over an hour.

All ramps reopened around 9 a.m., but traffic remains heavy, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said in a tweet.

There were no reported injuries and investigators are working to determine the cause of the rollover.
