One of the people in the dashcam video who appears to be firing shots has been arrested Monday, police said. Devaughn Dardy, 21, of Boston was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon (gun), unlawful possession of a firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
"I want to commend my officers for the fine work that lead to today's quick arrest," Boston Police commissioner William Evans said. "I also want to thank the vehicle owner for her decision to share this video with our officers. Thanks to her help, we received several calls from concerned community members who helped us identify the suspect. And, as I said earlier in the day, if we had more people come forward like that every day, our job would be a lot easier and our ability to solve crimes that much better."
