Boston, MA - Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has been invited to speak at a White House summit on gun violence prevention.

The mayor said in a press release Monday he'll be in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, speaking before elected officials from every state in the nation, gathered at the White House to discuss local action on addressing gun violence and domestic violence.

"Gun violence is one of the defining challenges of our time. We know that in order to get illegal guns off of streets and out of the wrong hands, we must work with our regional and national partners on commonsense strategies that work," Walsh said in a press release.
