2 Stolen Cars Found At Braintree's South Shore Plaza

Two people face charges related to the theft of the cars as well as credit card fraud.

BRAINTREE, MA — Vehicles stolen out of Boston and Quincy were found at South Shore Plaza earlier this month, Braintree police said.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, Braintree officers were alerted to a possible stolen motor vehicle located at the South Shore Plaza parking garage. Officers quickly located the stolen vehicle, which was running but unoccupied, officials said.

Upon further investigation, they discovered that an adjacent vehicle was also running and unoccupied. This second vehicle was also reported stolen.

Additional officers arrived at the scene, and a coordinated effort ensued to locate the suspects. Using plaza surveillance footage, officers were able to obtain descriptions of the suspects and track their movements within the plaza, police said.

The suspects, 18-year-old Jawaun Wilkins of Boston and a 16-year-old juvenile from Quincy, were arrested on charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a license and credit card fraud.
