Braintree Community Youth Center Closed Due To Heatwave

The youth center does not have a working air conditioning system, forcing it to shut its doors for Friday and Saturday

BRAINTREE, MA - The Braintree Community Youth Center will be closed Friday and Saturday evening due to the rising temperatures and lack of air conditioning in the facility.

"Given the unprecedented heat wave and the fact that we have no A/C, we had no choice but to close," Virginia Polio, the facility's executive director, announced Friday morning in a statement. "Hope to see all our members and prospective members next weekend."

She recommended the Thayer Public Library as a place for kids and their families to beat the heat.
