Braintree Declares Snow Emergency Ahead Of Blizzard
A potentially record-setting blizzard is on its way to Massachusetts this weekend.

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree is declaring a snow emergency Friday night ahead of a potentially record-setting blizzard this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning from coastal Massachusetts and the Cape to the I-495/I-95 corridor. The latest forecasts call for 18-24 inches of snow to fall overnight Friday until Sunday morning.
The snow emergency and parking restrictions will go into effect at 11:5.9 p.m., Friday and last until noon, Sunday. During this time, there will be no on-street parking allowed on any public road. Police have been authorized to tow any vehicle deemed to be an obstruction to snow removal.

The following public parking lots are available during the storm:
- Smith Beech Parking Lot
- Sunset Lake
- Braintree Golf Course.
The leaf compost site and the trash and recycling center will be closed Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the Thayer Public Library, Daughraty Gym and all town buildings will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
