Braintree Red Line Service Shifts To Shuttle Buses In May: Here's When
Buses are set to replace Red Line service on a number of days throughout the month as the MBTA continues track improvements.

BRAINTREE, MA — Changes are coming to the Braintree Red Line service in May, MBTA officials announced.
The big news is that shuttle bus service will replace the Red Line trains on a number of days throughout the month as MBTA officials continue tie, track and rail replacement work.
Here's what dates that change will happen, what parts of the line will be impacted and why:

- Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between JFK/UMass and Braintree from 8:45 p.m. to end of service May 8-12 for rail and tie replacement work.
- Shuttle buses replacing Red Line service between Broadway and Ashmont and Broadway and Braintree, the weekend of May 13-14, due to track and tie replacement work.
- Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between JFK/UMass and Braintree from 8:45 p.m. to end of service May 15-19 for rail and tie replacement work.
- Shuttle buses replacing Red Line service between Broadway and Ashmont and Broadway and Braintree, the weekend of May 20-21, due to track and tie replacement work.
- Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between JFK/UMass and Braintree from 8:45 p.m. to end of service May 22-25 for rail and tie replacement work.
- Shuttle buses replace Red Line service between JFK/UMass and Braintree from 8:45 p.m. to end of service May 30-31 for rail and tie replacement work.
