BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree students will get a few extra hours to sleep in on Tuesday.
District officials announced Monday night that Braintree Public Schools would institute a two-hour delayed opening on Tuesday ahead of predicted winter weather.
School officials said they would monitor conditions overnight into Tuesday morning, and families would be notified in the morning if "conditions require further action."

A winter weather advisory will be in effect in eastern Massachusetts Monday from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. The region could see up to 6 inches of snow.
The forecast calls for the heaviest snowfall coming Monday night, resulting in difficult travel conditions. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph are also expected.
