College Courses Coming Soon To Braintree High School

Massasoit Community College and Braintree are beginning a joint study with the hopes of bringing college courses to Braintree High School.

BRAINTREE, MA — It appears likely that college courses are soon to be offered at Braintree High School thanks to a partnership between the town and Massasoit Community College.

According to the partnership, a collaboration and joint study is already underway that has identified classroom space at the high school that meets the needs of students and faculty.

"The space will not only allow students to participate with disrupting any BHS classes and coursework but will also allow the broader community to have access to classes," officials said in a joint statement.

"I'm grateful to President [Ray] DiPasquale for his collaboration and efforts to provide our community with access to higher education courses," said Mayor Charles Kokoros. "This creates a convenient and cost-effective option for those students looking to earn college credits during their time at BHS and better prepare them for long-term, future success."

Officials also hope that courses will be of interest to adults looking to advance in their careers, or pivot to a new one.
