Power Restored After Sunday Outage In Braintree
A surge caused a regional power outage that impacted a significant portion of Braintree and some neighboring towns, officials said.

BRAINTREE, MA — A Sunday evening power outage was caused by a transmission line surge, Braintree Electric Light Department said.
Officials notified residents Sunday evening that, around 6:30 p.m., a transmission line that supplies power to the plant went down.
Company officials later said an overcurrent surge on the transmission line caused transmission breakers to open at 6:28 p.m., leading to the systemwide outage.
