Shellee's Garden Party in Braintree is Raising Funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston
Join in! Welcome summer at this joyful June 29th soirée at the Mendes Martin Mansion!

Shellee Mendes – entrepreneur, philanthropist, and proud owner of Salon Monét – once again hosts her enticing “Garden Party” at the Mendes Martin Mansion in Braintree on June 29th from 2 to 7 pm. Funds raised go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.
The highly successful Salon Monét, now in its 22nd year, is the only Black woman-owned business on Boston’s historic Newbury Street. Last year a boston.com survey of readers hailed it as one of 150 top Newbury Street businesses.
Mendes founded Salon Monét in 2003 after years struggling with homelessness and poverty as a young mother of two whose full-time job in financial services could not pay rent and living costs in Boston. She began working after-hours at Newbury Street hair salons. The rest is history!

“Without the people in my community who offered me a hand up in tough times, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” said Mendes. “I want to pay it forward and give young people the kind of support I received.”
Join Friends of Shellee to welcome summer and support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and their mission to make a difference for children, youth and families. This special event brings together leaders, changemakers and friends who share a commitment to empowering the next generation – especially our inner-city youth.
