Rep. Tommy Vitolo Wins Brookline State Rep. Race, To Begin 3rd Term

BROOKLINE, MA — Rep. Tommy Vitolo announced Tuesday that he won the race to become the next state representative for Brookline in the 15th Norfolk District.

According to the unofficial results posted by the town, Vitolo received over 62 percent of the vote, winning against former Select Board Vice Chair Raul Fernandez with 37 percent of the vote.

There is no Republican challenger on the November ballot and Vitolo will begin his third two-year term in January.

"I'm honored that Brookline continues to place its trust in me, and excited to continue the important work of fighting climate change, ensuring a safe and reliable transportation system, increasing investments in education, and building a more just and equitable society,” Vitolo said.

"My opponent Raul Fernandez ran a great race, shining a light on many important issues in our community and across Massachusetts,” he continued. "I share many of the concerns he raised and goals he articulated, and hope to partner with him and the rest of Brookline in moving these issues forward."
