BROOKLINE, MA — Not even pumpkin patches are escaping the coronavirus in 2020. The pandemic means many of the region’s pumpkin patches have had to adjust hours, regulations and activities as they head into fall.

Fortunately, the coronavirus has only changed — not completely closed — what you can expect when you head to your favorite pumpkin patch this fall. Below is a list of some of our favorite pumpkin patches near Brookline.

Name: Allandale Farms
Address: 259 Allandale Rd Chestnut Hill, MA 02467
Season opening/closing dates:
Attractions: This is the last working farm in Brookline and Boston. It doesn't offer pick your own from the field, but you can choose your own pumpkin from a lot of pumpkins.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Seniors 9 am to 10 a.m)

Name: Verrill Farm
Address: 11 Wheeler Rd. Concord, MA 01742
Season opening/closing dates: Sept. 26 through the end of October
Attractions: This is about a 35 minute drive from Brookline. There's a farm stand, and you can order ahead and have lunch ready. This is pick your own pumpkin. Saturday Oct. 3, they're hosting their annual Harvest Festival. That day proceeds from the sale of pumpkins will be donated to the Pediatric Unit at Emerson Hospital in Concord. Pick out your pumpkin in the field among some Fall decorations and props, great for the making of super family photos. Seat your family on the hay wagon, next to a scarecrow or rolling on a bale of hay.
Hours: Weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Attractions: Although this is about a 45 minute drive from Brookline, you can stop by the store and grab a red wagon to pull out to the field and pick your own pumpkin.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
