1 Person Dead After Large House Fire In Needham: Report
Three people were reportedly inside the home at the time of the fire.
NEEDHAM, MA — The body of a woman has been recovered in the aftermath of a four-alarm fire in Needham early Wednesday morning, according to a report from WCVB NewsCenter 5.
The 21-year-old was first considered unaccounted for until being found dead in the afternoon, according to Needham Fire Chief Thomas Conroy and Massachusetts Fire Marshal Jon Davine. Conroy said there were a total of three people in the home when the blaze broke out, and two managed to escape.
Crews responded to the scene at 20 Woodsworth Road just before 6 a.m. to discover heavy smoke and flames emanating from the first, second, and third floors of the home as well as from the roof. Several nearby departments provided mutual aid, including Natick and Norwood. Conroy said a total of 75 firefighters were needed for the extinguishing effort.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and the incident will be investigated by the Needham Fire Department, State Police, and Fire Marshal's Office.
