Brookline Arrests: Assault And Battery, Larceny, More

Here's a look at what the Brookline Police Department has been up to this weekend.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline police sent out arrest records, showing the community who was arrested for what and when. Charges listed below do not indicate guilt or conviction; they solely indicate accusations of offenses having been committed.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

Police arrested Amanda Jones, 31, of Weymouth, around 9:50 a.m. on shoplifting charges after receiving a call from the Target at 860 Commonwealth Ave., saying an officer got a description of the suspect and relayed Jones' description to surrounding officers. One officer spotted a woman matching the description and found in her bag a laptop, six stationery cards and a bag, body warmers and cosmetics totaling nearly $340 in value, police say.

Police arrested Kristin McCough, 35, who police say is homeless, around 7 a.m. on charges of larceny, breaking and entering with the intent to commit a misdemeanor and possession of heroin. Police say near 1440 Beacon Street, a man saw McCough who had just burglarized his car. Police stopped her and eventually arrested her. In her possession they found "a large quantity of items," including two cartons of cigarettes with Maine tax stamps, two passports and an iPhone, all of which the victim had reported stolen, police say.

Police arrested Ryan Brown, 29, of Brookline, around 10:40 a.m. on Dec. 6 charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Police say they received a call from the electronic monitoring department, saying that the electronic monitoring bracelet he had showed was at his home on Kent Street, where they went to arrest him.
