Brookline Fire's Head Mechanic Tim Daly Retires After 40 Years

He's was a familiar face around the department for the past four decades.

BROOKLINE, MA — A familiar face is putting down his tools and leaving the Brookline Fire Department after 40 years. Head Mechanic Tim Daly is retiring, the department announced Friday.

"Tim, your easy going ways, friendly smile, leadership, voice and presence at the stations and at incidents was reassuring and will long be remembered. Congrats M1 on an outstanding career," the fire department said in a statement.

Those who worked with him, and if you were on the Brookline Fire Department for the past four decades you did, said he was one of the most important elements of department.

"When you needed anything Tim was there," said Chet Riley on social media. "He was a great asset anytime you came out of a fire and needed a hand changing your air pack Tim was there Tim was always there if there is such a thing as irreplaceable it’s named Tim."
