BROOKLINE, MA – A Brookline man accused of crashing into a light pole and tree before attempting to flee early Wednesday morning is facing multiple charges after police found a ghost gun and fentanyl in his van, Cambridge police said in a news release Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Brookline resident, Alejandro Trigo, crashed on Rindge Avenue in Cambridge around 3:30 a.m. Thanks to a tip from a witness who watched the suspect flee, Cambridge police found Trigo in the 2100 block of Massachusetts Avenue in his U-Haul, which had significant damage from the crash.

When police searched the van, they found a semi-automatic ghost gun, two magazines, ammunition, fentanyl, and credit cards. Trigo was arrested after not being able to prove a license to carry a firearm, authorities said.
