Brookline Police Department Is Now Hiring

The department is looking to fill multiple full-time patrol officer positions

BROOKLINE, MA — The police department announced it is accepting applications from lateral transfers in order to fill some full-time vacancies for the position of police officer.

In order to qualify, applicants must have completed a full-time Municipal Police Training Committee Academy as well as be certified by a Peace Officer Standards and Training Agency. In addition, they must also have at least one full year of experience as a full-time police officer. Despite being a Civil Service department, applications for transfers from non-Civil Service departments may be considered.

“We are seeking officers who are proactive, community policing orientated with proven reliability and problem-solving skills,” the department said in a statement.

Interested candidates can submit a letter of interest and a resume to Detective Sergeant and Office Employment Coordinator Chris Malinn at cmalinn@brooklinema.gov. The deadline to apply is Monday, Sept. 8. The salary for Brookline patrol officers currently between $81,168 to $130,463.
