Brookline School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Vacations

BROOKLINE, MA — The first day of school in Brookline is September 6 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Brookline School District has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/5: First Day of School (Grades 1-9)
• 9/6: First Day of School (Grades 10 -12)
• 9/5 - 9/6: Half Day (Kindergarten Students Only)
• 9/30: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/9: No School (Yom Kippur)
• 10/14: No School (Indigenous Peoples' Day - previously known as Columbus Day)

November

• 11/8: No School For Students (teacher work day)
• 11/11: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/14: Early Dismissal 12:40 p.m. (Grades K-6)
• 11/20: Early Dismissal 12:40 p.m.- (Grades K-8)
• 11/27: Early Dismissal BEEP (11:00 a.m.) / K-8 (12:00 p.m.) / BHS (12:15 p.m.)
• 11/28 - 11/29: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/5: Early Dismissal 12:40 p.m. (Grades K-8)
• 12/11: Early Dismissal 12:40 p.m. (Grades K-12)
• 12/23 - 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)

January
