BROOKLINE, MA — Overnight Brookline turned into a winter wonderland. Department of Public Works crews were out overnight working to treat the roadways and keep the snow at bay and will be working beyond the last snowflake.

Thursday morning there were more people walking their dogs than drivers, as people, already working from home obeyed the governor's call to stay off the roads this morning.

According to the National Weather Service Boston broke its record snowfall for Dec. 17. Logan Airport reported 13 inches of snow as of 7 p.m. Thursday. Waltham saw 16 inches and Newton and Brookline reported 15 inches of the white stuff.

Over on Dean Road a few children had already tested this hill at Waldstein Park, and this BEEP student gave his ride a thumbs up.
