Cambridge Teen Accused Of Stealing Car In Brookline With Dog Inside
The boy stole a woman's unlocked car with her dog inside from the TJ Maxx parking lot on Harvard Street in Brookline, police said.

BROOKLINE, MA – Cambridge police took a teenage boy into custody Wednesday morning on charges related to a BMW stolen in Brookline with the vehicle owner’s dog still inside, police said in a news release.
The boy was taken into custody for warrants from the Norfolk Juvenile Court on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and larceny over $1,200, and for warrants from Middlesex Juvenile Court for receiving a stolen motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, and a number plate violation, police said.
He was arrested last week for a carjacking in Medford in February, and was located this morning in Cambridge by detectives with the Cambridge Police.

The boy stole a woman’s car from the TJ Maxx parking lot on Harvard Street in Brookline. The woman left her dog inside the unlocked vehicle with the key in the console.
The woman exited the store at about 4:15 p.m. and realized her 2017 BMW car had been stolen with her dog still inside. Authorities issued a “Be on the Lookout” alert for the vehicle.

Within 15 minutes, Cambridge Emergency Communications received a call that a vehicle matching the description of the BMW stolen out of Brookline was seen in Cambridge in the area of Amherst and Wadsworth Street.
The driver was seen getting out of the car, pushing the dog outside, backing up the car, and nearly injuring three students before driving off towards Memorial Drive, police said.
The dog and the woman were reunited that evening after Cambridge police located the stolen vehicle parked and unoccupied on Winter street just after 5:30 p.m.
