Five Things, May 6: Advanced Shadow Puppetry Workshop

Here are five things going on in town today.

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a foggy morning before 7 a.m.. Then, the sun will burn through and the temperature should reach 66. The evening will be clear with a low of 50.

2. Shavuot Storytime: Join us as we prepare for Shavuot- holiday of the giving of the Torah- with a fun story time and sing-a-long at 11 a.m.

3. Yoga for Runners: Boston Running Center's yoga classes have a maximum capacity of 8 people. With this small class size the instructor is able to adjust and adapt the session towards the needs of the participants.

4. Puppet Showplace Theatre presents "Advanced Shadow Puppetry Workshop" by Brad Shur: Unleash the storytelling powers of darkness and light! Learn to build and perform a complete shadow puppet show in this rigorous and supportive class at 6:30 p.m.

5. Elinor Lipman - I Can’t Complain and The View from Penthouse B: After two decades of regaling her audience with fictional characters, Elinor Lipman returns to the Booksmith with her most real character yet—herself. In I Can’t Complain, a collection of personal essays, Lipman covers the full range of human experience, ranging from the lighthearted to the profound at 7 p.m. at the Brookline Booksmith.
