Hazmat Team Called to 5 Station Street
The following information was supplied by Lt. Harrington of the Brookline Police

Today the department received a call from a citizen reporting suspicious items found in a storage unit they had bought at auction. At approximately 9:40 AM units responded to 5 Station Street.
Officers responded along with Brookline Fire. Initial reports where there were bomb making items, Boston Bomb Squad was notified. Based upon further investigation of the items, it was determined to be items considered to be part of drug manufacturing.
The bomb squad turned the scene over to a Hazmat team that was called in. The storage unit was cleared out.

At no time were any of the surrounding business asked to close although the street was closed for a short period of time to accommodate the emergency vehicles. Police are following up to determine if any criminal charges would be sought with the original owner of the unit.
