Newton North, South And Brookline High Schools Make Top 25 List

NEWTON, MA — Newton and Brookline high schools made the top 25 high schools in a recent Boston Magazine ranking of area high schools.

Using data from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Boston magazine’s team compiled the best public schools that are within, or partially within, I-495. The rankings were determined by factors such as SAT scores, student-teacher ratios, graduation rates, according to the magazine.

Who did the best according to Boston? Dover-Sherborn Regional high school came in at No. 1 of 149 schools.

• Wellesely High School came in at No. 9
• Newton South High School came in ranked as No. 11.
• Brookline High School was No. 19.
• Needham High School came in at No. 21,
• Newton North High School came in at No. 24.
