Rep. Tommy Vitolo Endorsed By The Bay State Stonewall Democrats
The Bay State Stonewall Democrats are the LGBTQ+ Democrats of Massachusetts.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Bay State Stonewall Democrats have endorsed Brookline Rep. Tommy Vitolo's re-election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
The Bay State Stonewall Democrats are the LGBTQ+ Democrats of Massachusetts and advocate within the Democratic Party on behalf of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community. They promote the ideals and programs of the Democratic Party to the LGBTQ+ communities throughout Massachusetts and their members are active within the Democratic Party.
"Tommy Vitolo is a champion for LGBTQ+ rights who has repeatedly delivered real results for civil rights and social justice,” Co-Chair Tanya Neslusen said in a statement. "He’s the candidate in this race with a lengthy progressive record that matches his rhetoric. The Bay State Stonewall Democrats enthusiastically endorse Tommy’s re-election.”

The Bay State Stonewall Democrats formed in 1988. After several years of inactivity, Bay State incorporated as a Massachusetts non-profit corporation in 1995, created an affiliated political action committee, elected a new board of directors, and worked closely with other gay and lesbian Democratic clubs across the country to form the National Stonewall Democratic Federation in 1998, now National Stonewall Democrats.
"The Bay State Stonewall Democrats are the leading advocates for the LGBTQIA+ community with the Massachusetts Democratic Party,” Vitolo said in a statement. "I have partnered with the BSSD for years on various social justice and civil rights issues and I’m so grateful to my partners for their support.”

In addition to the Bay State Stonewall Democrats, Vitolo has been endorsed by gubernatorial candidate Maura Healey, 80 percent of the Select Board, 80 percent of all town-wide elected officials including all elected chairs, and 75 percent of Town Meeting Members. He’s been endorsed by Senator Cindy Creem, former Governor Mike Dukakis, former MA-4 Congressman Barney Frank, philanthropist Chobee Hoy, Senior Center Board of Directors President Betsy Pollock, Climate Action Brookline Co-chairs Susan Martin and John Harris, over two dozen former Select Board and School Committee Members, three former Brookline State Representatives, and four former Brookline principals.
Vitolo has also been endorsed by Brookline PAX, Reproductive Equity Now, the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund, the Boston Teachers Union, Iron Workers Local 7, 1199SEIU, SEIU NAGE, Sheet Metal Workers Local 17, Boston Carmen's Union Local 589, Laborers Local 22, the Mass Organization of State Engineers and Scientists, and the Massachusetts Voters for Animals.
