Stone IPA, International ATM Theft, & More: Brookline Police Logs

Here are the Brookline Police Logs for the first half of the week.

BROOKLINE— The following is from the Brookline Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. And all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Monday, Aug. 14

Two Chinese men were arrested at Webster Bank in connection to international ATM theft. Brookline police were dispatched to the bank on Harvard Street on Monday night. The bank has lost approximately $20,000 USC from a ring of individuals that one of the men, Haijun Zhu, is involved with.

Tuesday, Aug. 15

Trader Joe's reported a theft around noon on Tuesday. Dispatch put out a call for a shoplifter out on Beacon St. who had a six-pack of beer in a green bag. The man had gone to the beer aisle, and had placed the pack of Stone IPA in a bag and left the store. Gene Jackson, 49 of Dorchester was arrested for Shoplifting Third and Subsequent Offense.

Wednesday, Aug. 16

A man driving without a license was speeding on Washington Street Police turned down a one-way street to avoid police. A group of officers found the man in his back seat after hitting a curb, and pat-frisked him for weapons. A folding knife was located in his pocket. John Dinius was arrested for unlicensed vehicle operation and Violation of a One-Way.
