Fire At Brookline Mansion Extinguished

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.

BROOKLINE, MA — Firefighters from four fire departments extinguished a blaze at a Brookline mansion Thursday afternoon.

According to the Brookline Fire Department, no one was injured in the fire, and the home's five occupants were able to escape safely.

The department first responded to the fire at the 13,000-square-foot, three-story brick home at approximately 10:40 a.m., and reported the fire had been knocked down by around 1 p.m.

Brookline thanked the Boston and Newton fire departments for their contributions extinguishing the blaze. Cambridge Fire Department also assisted fighting the fire. The companies attempted to extinguish the blaze from inside until a portion of the roof collapsed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, however, Brookline Fire Department officials does not believe it is suspicious at this time.
