At 8:17 p.m. on May 1, a Trader Joe's employee told police that they witnessed a woman shoplift from the store, then get on a Green Line Train headed towards Cleveland Circle. Officers stopped the train at Summit Avenue and located the suspect who matched the provided description. The suspect told officers that she had dropped the merchandise outside of the store. The employee said that they and another worker chased the woman through the parking lot, yelling at her to stop. They had witnessed her put items in her black purse and leave the store without paying. The suspect had a bottle of Patron Tequila, four Angus Steaks, two Angus Ribs and three Boneless Ribeye steaks. The total of these ten items came to $143.31. The employee provided a show-up identification. Officers arrested Stephanie Hahn, 34, of 88 Nightingale Street, Dorchester and charged her with shoplifting.
