Backyard Beekeeping - Thursday, April 18 at 7pm

Join the Friends of the Library as they present Nate Matsubara of Burlington’s own “Lazy Bee Ranch”.  Nate will introduce us to backyard beekeeping with the special visual of a living hive!

Wowbrary

Many of you have asked if there was a way that we could showcase the new items added to our collection each week.  We’ve heard your request and now we have a solution!  Beginning the first week of April, you will be able to see an attractive online version of the new-book shelf on our website.  We are excited to offer our patrons free "Wowbrary" email alerts that showcase the library's newest items each as well.  The alerts feature the latest bestsellers, movies, music CDs, audio books, children's titles, cookbooks, mysteries, travel guides, health books, science fiction and more purchased by the library. Just go to burlingtonpubliclibrary.org and click on the “wowbrary” icon to learn more.

Burlington Reads 2013

“Burlington Reads 2013” has come to an end.  I hope that many of you had a chance to enjoy the wide array of programs offered during the last month.  Comments received from some who did indicate that this was a very successful event.  Those who attended the book discussions were very pleased with “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”.  The multiple themes presented in this book and the thought provoking discussions they generated were wonderful.

Many thanks to our Burlington Reads 2013 sponsors: Burlington Breakfast Rotary, Burlington Marriott Hotel, Country Club Heights, The Friends of the Burlington Public Library, Home Source Realty Group/Diane Bedard, Ikabana International, Last Word Toastmasters, The Printing Place, Inc., Rotary Club of Burlington, the Board of Library Trustees.
