BURLINGTON, MA — President Trump’s loss in Massachusetts on Tuesday was in line with his performance in 2016. With 70 percent of the estimated vote reported, his share of the statewide vote has fallen from 33 percent to 31 percent.
So how did Trump's support in Burlington compare with his vote totals in 2016, when he was running against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton?
According to unofficial results from the town clerk, Trump gained support in Burlington in 2020, but Biden made bigger gains compared to Clinton.

In 2016, Trump earned 5,510 votes in town, compared to 5,434 votes in 2020. He won 38.2 percent in 2016 and 36.2 percent in 2020, in line with the statewide trend.
Not every community in Middlesex County broke for Biden. Trump squeaked out wins in Ashby and Dracut, where he bested Biden by a mere 110 votes, according to unofficial results.
