Burlington At Two-Thirds Voter Turnout, Heading Into Election Day

Over 11,000 voters have cast their ballots in Burlington, as of Monday night.

BURLINGTON, MA — About two-thirds of Burlington's registered voters voted early, Town Clerk Amy Warfield said. Total voter turnout could be above 88 percent, she said.

As of Monday night, 11,698 ballots had been cast, with about 700 mail ballots outstanding. Warfield estimated that perhaps another 4,000 voters would turn out on Election Day.

In the last three presidential elections, turnout in Burlington was between 83 and 86 percent.

Voters who have outstanding ballots can still return them by mail or using the secure drop box at at 29 Center Street. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. If you plan to drop off your ballot in person, you should do so before 8 p.m., Tuesday. They cannot be directly submitted at in-person voting locations.

"It has been smooth, just super busy," Warfield said. "Nothing else to really say except if someone hasn't voted yet they should think about coming on down."
