Christine Monaco Meets The Moment In Burlington Schools: Letter
"Returning Christine Monaco to the School Committee is imperative to continue to maintain and improve our outstanding School Department..."

To the Editor,
I am writing in support of the re-election of Christine Monaco to the School Committee. Having served with Chris for 27 years on the School Committee I have first-hand knowledge of her dedication and commitment to the Burlington School Department. Over the years nobody has devoted more time and effort to benefit the students of the Town than Christine Monaco. Even if you disagree with her on a particular issue, and I did on occasion, there is never any doubt that her goal and desire was always to work to make things better - and she has.
I submit that Chris’ experience and institutional knowledge is particularly important given the challenges which the School Committee will be facing over the next three years. We are in the beginning phase of building a new Fox Hill School, we have repair/renovation needs at the High School, we have to make post-Covid adjustments to the learning system and we are implementing necessary initiatives in accordance with our new DEI policies and personnel. Veteran leadership and experience is absolutely crucial and Chris brings that to the table. She has dealt with similar challenges over the course of her career and she will be able to provide valuable direction and perspective to the other committee members as they work their way through these issues.

Returning Christine Monaco to the School Committee is imperative to continue to maintain and improve our outstanding School Department and I would ask all voters to give Chris one of your two votes.
