Wednesday, May 27
12:22 a.m. - 911 caller reports he is walking down the roadway near LaCascia’s Bakery, 326 Cambridge St. and does not feel safe. Units were dispatched to the area. Officers spoke with male party and wife and same was dropped off at home.
6:16 a.m. - Caller reports a possible water break in the area of Orange Leaf, 5 Center St.. Two DPW on call numbers were called to make notification. Messages left for both numbers. Water Department contacted. Water Department shut water off. Water will continue to run off for a few hours.

6:41 a.m. - Caller reports smoke on outside wall of a house on Makechnie Road. Fire Department advised.
6:42 a.m. - Caller reports a snapping turtle in the roadway in the area of Kohl’s Department Store, 150 Lexington St.

9:44 a.m. - Motor vehicle crash, hit and run in the area of Cambridge Street at Arthurwoods Avenue. Fire Department notified. One vehicle fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Driver of one vehicle was transported to Lahey by Burlington Fire. Driver reports the other vehicle made a U-turn then headed toward Burlington. The driver is described as a white male with gray colored hair. The driver was identified by a tip from the Burlington Police Department tip line. Officers arrested 44-year-old Nicholas Desimone of Lexington. He is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violations.
9:51 a.m. - Caller from Dolores Drive reports a tree fell in her yard onto her car and across the power lines. A tree from 25A Dolores Drive fell on the property of 25 Dolores, which took down power and cable drops. Utilities notified and homeowner advised.
11:22 a.m. - Manager of AT&T, 75 Middlesex Turnpike, reports display phone taken. An HTC cell phone worth $709 was stolen this past Monday.
11:45 a.m. - Caller reports a baby was left in a car unattended in front of Jenny Craig. While en route, dispatch informed that mother had already returned to vehicle. Upon arrival, officer spoke with the mother. Child was perfectly fine and sleeping. Officer advised mother. No further action.
3:04 p.m. - Caller reports a dog left in a car at Market Basket, 43 Middlesex Turnpike.
4 p.m. - Report of a traffic light hanging from a wire in the area of Mall Road at 146 Lexington St. Traffic light was hanging from wires ready to fall.
4:36 p.m. - Caller from 70 Bedford St. reports a male was mowing the lawn on Bedford St. and was struck by a vehicle. Male party was struck by passing motorist while riding lawn mower near the parked landscaping truck. Operator of the lawn mower declined medical treatment from the Fire Department.
11:22 p.m. - Party walked into the station to turn in a box of tools and radio parts. He stated he found them in the parking lot of the Capital Grille. Inside the box there was a Best Buy store receipt with the apparent owners name. Same has been notified by leaving a message on the phone number listed by Verizon information.
